Spirituality / Brilliant Failures; the inner journey! The very word 'spirituality' fundamentally means that you are not trying to be like anybody else. It doesn't matter what you want to be in the world, in some way you are always trying to be like somebody or be better than somebody in whatever you may be doing. When you want to play music, your minds immediately thinks of a certain kind of music; possibly because you've heard it before. Liking someone's music, like Mariah Carey, for example, might entice you to either to play like her or probably move a step ahead, depending on you're your standards are. Innately, whatever you might do externally, there's a strong possibility that you are trying to be like somebody else or perhaps even better. The Inner journey The inner journey called life deals with losing this rat race called situations. It also needs you to lose the race within yourself, because you are your unique self and you are not trying to be someone else. This is one stage in life where you come to a state where, being 'myself' more than anything else. The entire process of spirituality refers to a state wherein you are complete by yourself. Spirituality speaks on a being who doesn't need to become anything or doesn't even require you to make yourself into something; it's simply a case of sitting here and now and understanding that the entire world exists within yourself. You don't need examples to make you realize your worth; you are His choicest creation and you need to believe in yourself to get going in life. Ever realized that even with a simple teaching in school, like rudimentary science, mathematics or whatever, even with that you did not evaluate yourself; somebody else did it for you! I have often pondered that while walking on the inner path, why we all seem to struggle while evaluating ourselves? If you notice there is no real need to evaluate yourself. Life's as simple as doing what is required and nothing more. The evaluation and the consequent results will happen in due course. Dealing with Spiritualism, there's nothing like you can't do spiritually; you just have to allow yourself to do things as they come your way! Allowing things to occur in your scheme of things would mean that you need a certain level of maturity within you; else all you would be left with would be to meddle with it without any substantial solution. The Spiritualistic Path The Many people whom I have discussed this with ask me a typical question....'How do I do that?' the answer to that is you can't do that; you just have to allow it. Yoga is intertwined with Spiritualism in a large way. When you practice Yoga, it simply means that you are bringing your energies to that level of stability where you can just be yourself. You are not trying to do anything else besides this. By not trying to get somewhere, simply allowing things to happen and follow its course would mean that it happens in the manner that it should. It doesn't matter how much you aspire for it. I'll explain... In the face of adversity, say for example you are left with a spouse who's recently lost his job it sure gets unnerving with the wife working double shifts. There are times when the irritation just gets to you and you cannot think straight, remember the first lesson in Yoga, one that allows you to loosen your reigns on your rigidity. Let things fall in place as they normally would. Its very disturbing I can understand, but then that's the message both Spiritualism and Yoga teach you. Allow yourself to do the right thing and let that lead you to places that you want to not drag you to another destination, which it normally gets you too! It doesn't matter then who surrounds you, melancholy or happiness, the idea is to getting going in the worst of situations. For millions of people who sit across the globe, it's difficult to get a good speaker get these pearls of wisdom to your ears. Its really very simple; you follow your conscience, and believe me it will never fail you. The values that spiritualism endorses are ones that are largely submerged in the simple acts of following your own path, irrespective of its consequences. Yoga enhances that effect even more; which is why both these doctrines go hand in hand. After all this is not a race that you have gotten yourself into, it's a way of getting back to your very basic nature, that of being in a peaceful and soulful environment. |
